Unity Tank Simulator
A downloadable simulator for Linux
This is a Unity tank simulator that I am developing solo as of April 2023. The game is inspired by Gunner Heat PC and War Thunder. It has a hyper realistic ballistic model that: Accounts for realistic bullet drag based on the atmosphere and altitude, realistic penetration formula based on velocity caliber and shape of the shell, a realistic spall calculation that calculates the amount, size, mass, and speed of spall fragments. Spall fragments can also bounce around. The game also features a realistic damage model, with varying armor thickness at different spots. Ammo racks are instakills and knocking out crews doesnt really do anything as of right now*
As of May of 2023:
There is two operational vehicles in the game. Performance optimization and realism additions are still in the works. I know I said somewhere I will release a windows executable between May-June, but just as a heads up development is slowing down as finals for school is becoming my #1 priority.
There is now two almost fully operational vehicles:
Panzerkampwagen IV Ausf. G with Kwk 40 L48 cannon
KV-1 with the Zis-5 cannon.
These will probably be the only vehicles in the game for the next few months OR until I iron out the ballistics system and damage model.
For now, because the game is still in super early access I will be building "vertical slices" showing the full capability of the game in a small excerpt of it. From now on, until I release the game into beta, you guys will only be getting a firing range for each vehicle in game. These builds will be for Windows AND Linux. You can still get the 0.2.4-Pre-Alpha as a version with a "mission" but please don't get upset!

Arrow keys : Turret Traverse and Gun Traverse
Left Click - Aim
NumPad 8 - toggle distance for gun sights
V- switch between shells. (Pretty buggy I dont recommend it.)

*Tank crews are modeled in the game. I am still working on making them affect the vehicles performance. Right now, only the gunner crewman affects the performance of the vehicles. Damaging the gunner will reduce the max turret traverse rate. But it doesn't affect all that much because I have to work on making it affect his aiming and firing abilities
